Joy
I trust your Resurrection Day was a time of rejoicing in the victory
that we have in Christ. So many time we focus on the cross and
His death. I remember as a little girl when I would sit in church there
was a huge wooden cross hanging from the ceiling. Even as a young
child I would get teary eyed thinking about the pain that Jesus did
for me. My concept of His resurrection was not developed enough for
me to receive all that he did for me on the cross. But now ... oh my!
I have made a determination to receive all that God has for me, in
this lifetime, for His glory and honor.
I do not want to get to heaven and hear Him say, "Well, I had so much
for you to receive and you just didn't grasp hold of it." One of the
benefits of being totally sold out to God is joy. How simple a word and
yet joy seems to elude the Body of Christ and especially the world.
And yet, it is part of the package of receiving Jesus Christ. Think of
your largest financial debt ... how would you react if someone walked
up to you and said, "I have decided to right off your debt. There is no
need to pay it. I want to pay it in full for you right now." I know I
would jump around and shout and definitely put a huge smile on my
face.
Well, that is what Jesus did for us. He paid off our debt of sin and
unrighteousness and then, he kicked the devil's rear and made a
way for us to walk blameless. He opened the door for us,as human
beings, to have relationship with our Abba Daddy. Because of what
Jesus did through the power of His resurrection, we are called friends
of God.
I encourage you to read Romans 5. You will find a description of
how God sees you. He wants to be your friend. He has wanted that
since the beginning of creation. We were never created to live in
the curse. We were created to be sons and daughters of the Most
High God ... to have relationship and to be friends.
Walk in the fullness of your calling. Make a commitment to seek
God's face, not just His hands. Seeking His hands might bring you
things, but it will not give the ultimate gift of joy in all circumstances
Things will pass away, but your friendship with God will never fade
away. In seeking His face and His heart, joy will fill your life and the
"things" will come on you and overtake you.
Matthew 6
We love you and are praying for you to walk in the joy that our precious
Savior has made available to us,
